Mindful Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding


I trained in Mindful Breastfeeding while I was pregnant with Oakley in 2021. I was due to finish the course on her due date, but the impatient little lady decided to turn up 4 weeks early. I ended up finishing the course while nursing Oakley during the online sessions, multi tasking or what.!


Both my feeding journeys haven’t been an easy start, I did need support both times, I have 2 daughters and their feeding journeys have been completely different. I was lucky to have fantastic support, but I know a lot of families who didn’t have the support and stopped their breast/chestfeeding journey early because of this.


I wanted to train so I can support parents to meet their feeding goals. I include mindful breastfeeding/chestfeeding in all my hypnobirthing courses and I also provide a separate 90 minute breastfeeding/chestfeeding course. It is an adaptable course where I can provide more support if wanted/needed.


What is Mindful Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding?

It’s a combination of practical breastfeeding support with mindfulness techniques.


What are Mindfulness techniques? 

Relaxation tips, guided relaxation, journaling, affirmations and more.


It’s linking Mind – Body – Connection, and understanding how they impact your feeding journey.

I want you to have a positive feeding journey, what I teach can help you with pumping and combination feeding too.

When should I start Mindful Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding?

Whenever you want, you can do mindful breastfeeding/chestfeeding during pregnancy or when the baby is here. The course is really flexible and we can do it whenever you want.


Benefits of relaxation/mindfulness during nursing:

Babies drink more – gain more weight and sleep more! 

Lower levels of the stress hormone adrenaline 

Produce more of the hormone oxytocin – feeling loved – great for bonding with baby

Can support milk supply

More likely to meet feeding goals.

Better quality sleep
